Message from Mr. Baughman:
Dear Wolverine Families,
I am deeply sorry the last couple days have been so stressful--between transportation, food service, and custodial support, not to mention support staff and administrators out--I have been wracking my brain thinking of a way to keep our doors open.
After discussing it with other area superintendents, members of the school board, and our teachers and support staff, I have come to the conclusion, that is more responsible to give people the time they need to recover and wait until after Thanksgiving to return to full time, in-person learning. This will also give us an opportunity to deep clean our district before we return to school.
Therefore, Wolverine Community Schools will be closed fully starting Wednesday, November 17th, until Monday, November 29th. Our kitchen staff have indicated they are willing to provide food for those families interested in it. If this is something you would like, please contact Ms. Hartson at shartson@wolverineschools.org.
For the parents of elementary students, please accept my personal apologies--I know this closure will be hard on you from a childcare perspective. We will create a Facebook post asking if there are any parents willing to help those of you with childcare. This will be done today.
Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive during these challenging times; I know from personal experience, that when I'm struggling it is harder to remain positive and to give those around me the benefit of the doubt--this has made your support even more meaningful.
Please stay healthy and take care of one another.
-Mr. Baughman
